It seems transmission to children is so neglible that studies/surveys have stopped. I have found none in the last 13 years. I believe more studies would only prove the point that the risk of an adverse vaccine event from the hepb vaccine far outweighs the risk of delaying the vaccine until at least age 3 for mothers who test negative for HBsAg.
The studies I have found are:
School Transmissions
Hepatitis B virus transmission between children in day care.
hepb.info/1stCase
“This is the first reported case of hepatitis B virus transmission between children in day care in the United States. Although it appears that day care transmission of hepatitis B is infrequent, further studies are needed to define the risk more accurately.”
Epidemiology of hepatitis B
hepb.info/edpidemiology
“The risk of hepatitis B virus transmission between children in day-care centers and schools is very low.”
Hepatitis B virus transmission in an elementary school setting.
hepb.info/notObserved
“Transmission of HBV to other students or staff members in the school was not observed.”
Hepatitis in day care centers: epidemiology and prevention
hepb.info/notDocumented
“The spread of hepatitis B has not been documented in day care centers”
Horizontal transmission of hepatitis B in a children’s day-care centre: a preventable event
hepb.info/horizontal
“The risk of horizontal HBV transmission in a children’s day-care centre is low”
Epidemiology of hepatitis B
hepb.info/epidemiology
“hepatitis B virus transmission between children in day-care centers and schools is very low.”
Hepatitis B in urban Australian schoolchildren.
hepb.info/noEvdience
“No evidence of horizontal transmission between high-risk and low-risk groups.”
Hepatitis B transmission through blood and body fluids exposure of school personnel
hepb.info/rare
“Exposure to quantities of blood sufficient to result in HBV transmission in day schools is rare”
Role of carriers of the hepatitis B surface antigen as possible sources of infection in children’s collectives
hepb.info/6yearPossible
“complex clinico-epidemiological and laboratory surveys of the children and the staff in 71 institutions for children of preschool age were made” and nothing conclusive was demonstrated.
Low hepatitis B prevalence among pre-school children in Denmark: saliva anti-HBc screening in day care centres
hepb.info/onlyOne
“Adequate saliva samples were obtained from 93% (588/634) of children and 100% (166/166) of employees participating in the day-care centre survey. Among children 55% were of non-Scandinavian origin and only one (0.2%, 95% CI [0.0; 1.0]) was HBV positive”
Hepatitis B virus transmission in pre-adolescent schoolchildren in four multi-ethnic areas of England
hepb.info/ukUncommon
“schools in the UK are an uncommon setting for the transmission of the virus. Targeted hepatitis B testing and immunization of migrants from intermediate- and high-prevalence countries is likely to be a more effective measure to reduce childhood transmission than a universal infant immunization programme”
Impacts
Multiple sclerosis and hepatitis B vaccination: adding the credibility of molecular biology to an unusual level of clinical and epidemiological evidence
hepb.info/sclerosis
“manufacturing process could introduce HBV polymerase as a contaminant, and then trigger an auto-immune process against myelin”
The declining prevalence of hepatitis B virus infection among Asian and Pacific Islander children
hepb.info/mutant
“the immunization programs may be causing natural selection of mutant hepatitis B viruses”
Hepatitis B Vaccine Victims in France Sue; Schools Suspend Vaccination Program
hepb.info/franceSue
“French physician has reportedly collected data on more than 600 people suffering from serious immune and neurological dysfunction following hepatitis B vaccination”
Hepatitis B vaccination of male neonates and autism diagnosis, NHIS 1997-2002
hepb.info/neonates
“male neonates vaccinated with the hepatitis B vaccine prior to 1999 (from vaccination record) had a threefold higher risk for parental report of autism”
Acquired autoimmunity after viral vaccination is caused by molecular mimicry
hepb.info/epsteinBarr
“specific autoimmune T-cells have been shown to develop clones that attack multiple human tissues”
